These are the controls the commander of the Shuttle uses to monitor the conditions on board the Orbiter. From here the commander looks after the OrbiterÕs life support systems. He or she monitors the cabin temperature and pressure, and makes sure that the water and air systems are working properly. The commander controls the ShuttleÕs radiators and monitors the electrical equipment to make sure everything is operating safely. The smoke detector and fire extinguisher system controls are located on this panel.
